Greyt-Waitstaff started with one person who couldn't stand watching good parties get bad service. Today it's a team of local waiters, bartenders and crew, and that person is still on the floor.
In Eddie's words
Greyton is a small place, and people talk. That has been the best thing that ever happened to this business. Look after someone's guests properly and the whole of High Street hears about it by Monday.
I started Greyt-Waitstaff because I kept seeing the same thing at beautiful weddings: the flowers were perfect, the food was lovely, and the service let it down. Staff driven in from far away, nobody briefed, nobody in charge.
So we do it the other way round. Our team lives here. We know the venues, the farm roads and the caterers. We arrive early, we're dressed properly, and there is always someone on the floor who can answer a question. Usually that's me.
